You are so firmly inserted into your writing – it’s like having a nice long sit down talk with you!  Stuff is coming iup for me that I had almost totally forgotten.  I’m looking forward to the workshop.  Talk soon, I hope.   Catherine

I went into the workshop with familiar trepidation for the rawness of sharing my own and listening to others’ perhaps painful childhood experiences.  In fact the process of writing and sharing was healing and stimulating for me.  I appreciated the humor, wisdom, and fascinating backgrounds of the women in our circle.  My own writing has felt relieved of a lot of judgment since the workshop, and my sense of childhood and family feels more integrated with my life as a whole.    Celia

Using Nancy’s book “Little Nancy- The Journey Home” as a resource, I attended a 2 ½ day workshop with several other women as facilitated by Nancy. Our homework and topics for discussion were based on a series of excellent questions about childhood and young adulthood. I had previously written about my life, mainly to tell my children what it was like to grow up in rural Maine during the Depression. Never, however, had I delved deeply into the details of child play, relationship with parents and peers, school experiences, early sexuality, etc. The workshop was conducted with sensitivity and, for me, resulted in a new perspective and appreciation for the person I was during those formative years.
