Workshops and Retreats

When I began this process with my memoir/workbook “Little Nancy: the Journey Home”, I truly didn’t remember the little girl in the picture on these pages who had been me. Not only did I find her, but the freedom to delight in who she is, and to integrate her with the adult woman I have become. I learned acceptance of myself, the wondrous parts, the difficult parts, the painful parts – in a word, the whole me. The purpose of these workshops is to help you begin the same journey so that you, too, can experience the whole person you are, without nearly as many ‘missing’ parts. I will be offering three-day workshops in different cities on the west coast, initially, as well as retreat weekends at two different B & B’s in Port Townsend, Washington. As soon as I am able to integrate them into my schedule, I will also start to offer one-day workshops in cities in the Northwest. The pricing will reflect the length of the workshop, and whether it is a retreat, or held locally.

There are financial incentives for hosting a workshop in your city.

Workshop and Retreat Descriptions:

3-day Workshops: The goal of the first evening is to become comfortable with one another by sharing our significant childhood pictures in the group. Questions for the first day will be sent to participants a few weeks before the workshop begins. The first morning we will pursue a lighter question to deepen our understanding of one another, moving on to a weightier topic by afternoon. The goal of the second day is to delve deeper, in a safe environment, and to move beyond some of our memories into a space of growing acceptance and understanding of ourselves. Laughter is an essential part of this process. Cost is: $365. Outside Washington and Oregon: $395.

3-Day Retreats: Retreats offer several advantages. First of all you will be free of distractions, since no one and nothing will stand in-between you and your goals. There is the additional advantage of a short vacation as well as emersion in this environment. Check out: www.oldconsulateinn.com to see the location, pictures, and prices – winter rates plus another 10% discount for workshop. Breakfast and lunch included. Call to reserve your room after registering.  Retreat description follows.  The first evening we will become comfortable with one another by sharing our significant childhood pictures. Questions for the first day will be sent to you before you leave for the retreat. As in the regular workshop, the first morning we will pursue a lighter question to deepen our understanding of one another and ourselves, moving on to a weightier topic by afternoon. The goal of the second day is to delve deeper, in a safe environment, and to move beyond some of our memories into a space of growing acceptance and understanding of ourselves. Laughter is an essential part of this process. To stay extra nights contact the Inn directly for discounted rates. Cost for retreat: $365.

3-Day Mother/Daughter Retreat: The goal of this weekend is to give both mothers and daughters new insight into one another’s lives, through answering the same questions, and sharing those answers with everyone in the group. There are always things we don’t know, even if we are close. And looking at the same time of life for both mother and daughter will increase understanding as well as closeness. The first night personal, childhood pictures will be shared; and the next morning we will pursue a lighthearted question to begin the workshop process. As the weekend progresses, the questions shared will have more intensity and depth. The goal is to achieve more acceptance for each other’s behaviors and choices. Mothers and daughters will share a room; one suite can accommodate a mother and two daughters for $100 more. Check out www.commandersbeachhouse.com. Breakfast and lunch included in the price, cost is: $445 per participant, except for mother/2 daughters, $990 total.

Four-Session Web Intensive: Four-week hourly mentoring sessions for up to ten women in a group are also available, and will begin as soon as four women have signed up for a session. It will be necessary to read the book, which is available at Amazon.com in both book, and e-book format , as well as at Barnes & Noble. I will send an initial question to all participants, who will send their answers to all of us before our first session. This process will be repeated each week. No ‘hot topic’ question will be broached until the women in the group have all become comfortable with one another, and with me. For the group sessions the cost is: $175.

One Day Workshop: The goal of the shorter workshop is to start women on their journey by first sharing their significant childhood picture with the group, and by responding to two questions, one light, one more intense, during the course of the 7-hour day. Forging bonds with the women in the group will be an important part of this process. The one-day workshop cost is: $210.
